CHARLOTTE, NC -- JWU Charlotte Men's Soccer Coach Matt Payne announced Adam Ali as the latest member of the 2020 recruiting class. The native Charlottean played his high school soccer for Independence High School, where he was All-Conference honoree his senior year. Ali spent this past year redshirting at Belmont Abbey College. The goalkeeper also represented Charlotte Soccer Academy North in club soccer.
"It's in my hometown city," replied Ali when asked why he chose Johnson & Wales. "It's a beautiful campus located right in the center of downtown Charlotte. The atmosphere is great and I really look forward to this upcoming fall."
Adam is the son of Nancy Ali and plans to major in Business.
"Adam is a fantastic keeper prospect for us, and we couldn't be happier to have him on board," commented Coach Payne on the third NCAA D2 transfer of the class. "He is a former teammate of incoming player Pablo Arguello, and the Pablo just raved to me about his work ethic. Pablo is a hardworking young man himself, so that immediately got my attention. Combine that work ethic with his athleticism and natural skill, and we think the future is very bright for Adam."
