Ford is a native of Wellington, England and joined CSA in 2014. He coached in England with Arenal Soccer Schools, and was a head coach with Somerset FA Girls Centre of Excellence. He was also heavily involved with the English Football Association, being awarded National Young Coach of the Year. Later, he was selected to join the FA in traveling to Rwanda, with the mission to educate local coaches and make a difference through a shared love for the game.
In 2012, Matt recieved his diploma in Football Coaching from Bridgewater College in the UK. Soonthereafter, he became an assistant coach for their men's team and a lecturer on the same courses he studied, with the desire to instill what he learned into the next generation of coaches. In 2013, Matt, received an opportunity to travel to the U.S. directing soccer camps across the Southeast. Since that point, he permanantly reloacted to Charlotte in 2014.
Matt also currently coaches for Charlotte Soccer Academy as their Youth Academy Boys Director and Director of Performance Analysis in the Boys' DA program. In addition to these duties, he also has roles in the North Carolina Olympic Developement Program.
He currently holds UEFA C and USSF C Licenses.
