Raleigh's Gordon Looks to Make Waves on Both the Trail and Court

Charlotte, NC -- Johnson & Wales Charlotte Cross Country Head Coach Peter Brown announced the signing of Emmanuel Gordon to the 2020 recruiting class. Gordon will also join the men's basketball team in 2021-22 after redshirting this season.

Gordon was an accomplished student both on the track and in the classroom at Triangle Math and Science Academy. The Raleigh, NC native was a 2nd Team All-Conference Honorable Mention in Cross Country, while also earning A/B Honor Roll honors in the classroom. He plans to major in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management.

Emmanuel credits Erin McLoughlin (cross country) and Brandon Moore (basketball) as coaches who helped him to achieve so much in high school. When asked why he chose Johnson & Wales, Gordon remarked, "because of the cultural atmosphere and family feel."

Coach Brown sees great things in store for Gordon's future.  "I am excited to have Emmanuel as a part of our inaugural XC team here at JWU.  He is a hard working and determined young man and I am excited to see his development both as a student and as a dual-sport athlete."
