Greensboro, NC -- The Johnson & Wales Lady Wildcats traveled to Greensboro College Monday evening after a two-week break over Thanksgiving. The two practices the team was able to work in to prepare for the game were not enough, and the Wildcats fell to the Pride by a score of 90-62. At the end of the first half, the Wildcats were only down by 10 points, but Greensboro buried a three-point basket at the buzzer to swing the momentum into their favor. They pulled away in the second half as the Wildcats shot 29.8% from the floor and 46.7% from the free throw line and committed 33 turnovers on the evening.
JWU (3-3) was led by Vanderia Shackleford with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Donyelle Stuetley added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Next up for the Lady Wildcats is a rematch with St. Andrews University on Wednesday. The Lady Wildcats played a close game with the Knights in the season opener and look to avenge that loss on the trip to Laurinburg.
