JWU Women's Basketball 2014-2015 Season Accomplishments

Charlotte, NC -- Although the 2014-2015 season just ended for the Lady Wildcat Basketball Team, Coach John Jordan is already hard at working planning on improvements for the 2015-2016 season.  The team played its inaugural season this year, and a firm foundation is set for the Lady Wildcats moving forward.  Here are some of the accomplishments from the team this year:

 

2014-15 Lady Wildcat First-Year Accomplishments

  • Ten wins (school record for JWU Charlotte first-year Teams) despite playing the second-toughest schedule in the USCAA. The schedule included fourteen games against scholarship schools, including two against NCAA Division II opponents and one versus NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina University.
  • 5-3 in USCAA Competition

  • Finished #19 in final USCAA regular season standings

  • Nationally-ranked in USCAA during season (#20)

  • Finished season ranked #11 in USCAA Power Rankings

  • Freshman Van Shackleford named Honorable Mention USCAA All-American

  • Was only USCAA team to defeat #1 St. Joseph's College of Vermont during the regular season. 75-65 was the final score.

  • Finished #4 in the country in field goal percentage (39.8)

  • Finished # 15 in USCAA in scoring (63.0)

  • Finished # 16 in steals per game (9.7)
