JWU Women's Basketball Lands DC Standout Corrinn Burch

Charlotte, NC -- The Johnson & Wales Women’s Basketball Team is proud to announce that Corrinn Burch, a 5’10" shooting guard from Centreville High School in Clifton, VA, has signed a letter of intent to join the Lady Wildcats for the 2015-16 season.  Burch is a starter on a 12-4 team that is ranked in the Washington Post Top 20 of the Washington DC metropolitan area.  Burch is a newcomer to the DC powerhouse; she spent her first three years of high school at Patriot High School in Nokesville, VA where she was a three-year starter and averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game. She turned down several NCAA Division II offers and had strong interest from a NCAA Division I school as well. Burch played her AAU ball with Premier Sports Performance Academy in Washington DC, which featured several of the top players in the area.

“We are very pleased to be getting a player with Corrinn’s background. She understands the game and is coming out of one of the top high school programs in Northern Virginia. Our goal in recruiting this season is to try and get taller at each position. Having a 5’10" player who can play the two-three spot and knock down the three is a great asset,” said JWU Head Coach John Jordan.  Burch is the first signee for the 2015-16 Lady Wildcat squad.  The current roster features one senior.
