Basketball Back in Action After Break

Charlotte, NC -- Both JWU basketball teams will return from a well-deserved Thanksgiving break to multiple games this week:

The JWU Men's Basketball Team (4-4 overall, 1-1 USCAA) is coming off tough match-ups with NCAA Division I UNC-Asheville and NCAA Division II Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone.  The Wildcats showed some great promise in their last game with Livingstone and headed into the break with confidence.  This week holds two more stout opponents in North Carolina Central University and Averett University.  On Tuesday, the Wildcats will travel to Durham to take on the Eagles, who have battled The University of North Carolina, Creighton University, and The University of Cincinnati already this season.  On Wednesday, JWU moves on to Danville, VA to take on a 2-2 Averett team that looks to match up well with the Wildcats.

The JWU Women's Basketball Team is currently 3-2 overall and 3-0 in USCAA games.  They are coming off a long break after playing a powerful Livingstone College team on November 16.  They travel to Greensboro, NC to play 4-0 Greensboro College on Monday.  On Thursday, the Wildcats will have their first rematch of the season as they visit St. Andrews University and look to avenge a loss in their opening game.  The 4-4 Knights are coming off a win at Bluefield College just before Thanksgiving.  On Thursday, the Wildcats will take on NCAA Division I opponent Coastal Carolina University, who is 4-1 following their first loss on Saturday.

Even though all games are away this week, check the JWU website for available games via livesteam.  Also, make plans to cheer on the Wildcats in the JWU Cup, which comes to Charlotte December 12 and 13.  Show your Charlotte pride as Providence, North Miami, and Denver come to town to try to claim to the JWU Cup!
