Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales women's basketball team participated in the second annual Cops 4 the Cure pink lady fire truck pull on Sunday.

The event, held at Mattie's Diner in the Third Ward, helped raise support for individuals battling cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

Johnson & Wales senior Donyelle Stuetley led a team of eight - including Corrinn Burch, Paris France-Lynch, Jasmine Outlaw, Danica Ford, Justina Tyler, Jaquana Pauling, and Vanderia Shackleford - in pulling the Charlotte Fire Department's Pink Lady Fire Truck in a competition against other groups.

Women's basketball assistant coach Dylan Auman said the event was especially meaningful to the team as their head coach, John Jordan, has been fighting cancer in recent months.

"In light of all that has happened to us in the last couple of months with Coach Jordan, this event was perfect," said Auman.  "Our team was fully on board to show Coach Jordan he is not alone in his fight."
