Elizabeth City, NC - The USCAA #13 Johnson & Wales women's basketball team won handily against Christendom College in the opening game of the Chesson Classic on Friday, defeating the Crusaders 82-32.

Senior center Donyelle Stuetley led the way with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting for the Wildcats (14-6), one of five players to reach double figures for Johnson & Wales.

Vanderia Shackleford finished with 17 points while Ineesha Hankerson added 14 points.  Bianca Covington and Shannon Martin each finished with 10 points for the Wildcats.

Johnson & Wales will turn their attention to Saturday's final of the Chesson Classic, where they await the winner of Central Penn and host Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
