Elizabeth City, NC - The JWU women's basketball team took on Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Friday. The Wildcats took down their EMAC rival, 70-47.

  • JWU held their opponents to 25% shooting from the field.
  • JWU outscored MACU 18-2 on points from turnovers.
  • The Wildcats scored 17 second chance points to MACU's 6.
  • The Wildcats out-rebounded the Mustangs 56-45.
  • Chase Muhammad and Ineesha Hankerson scored 13 points each for the Wildcats. Kayla Kent added 12.
  • Hankerson led the team with 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
  • Sixth ranked JWU moves to 4-1 in conference and 8-5 overall.

Interim Head Coach Aram Parunak on the win: "Tonight was a good chance to get everyone playing time. We started to find a little rhythm offensively in the second half, and hopefully that will continue tomorrow. The journey to success is never pretty, and I'm optimistic that we are starting to put the pieces together."
