Elizabeth City, NC - Johnson & Wales defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian 87-38 in Eastern Metro Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats (7-9, 1-1) blistered the nets in the first half, shooting 62.9% from the floor. JWU also connected on 6 of 14 three point attempts, while holding MACU to just 17.5% shooting in building a commanding 56-15 halftime lead.
Johnson & Wales used their size advantage inside to outrebound the Mustangs (5-10, 0-2) 62-39.
Jada Morgan led all scorers with 20 points. Ineesha Hankerson posted a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Shannon Martin had 17 points, while Justice Wallace added 15. Christine Eppler scored 9 points, and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Judea Edmonds led MACU with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The Wildcats travel to Warren Wilson for a 6pm tipoff on Wednesday, January 25.
