Women's Basketball Lands Georgia Sharpshooter

Charlotte, NC - JWU Charlotte Women's Basketball Head Coach Ashley Raley-Ross added another important piece to the 2020 recruiting class, announcing Leslie Hodges as the newest Wildcat.

Hodges comes to Johnson & Wales from Lawrenceville, GA, where she was a standout at Mountain View High School. The shooting guard/small forward was a four-time varsity letter winner for the Bears and was recognized as Second Team All-Region for Region 6 in 7A. Hodges won the team's Toughness Award her junior year and was the Offensive Player of the Year in her senior campaign. Her efforts led her to be honored by the Gwinnett County Tip-Off Club as the Player of the Month in January 2020. Hodges also played volleyball for Mountain View.

"It felt like home," replied Hodges when asked why she chose JWU. "Everyone was so nice and welcoming that I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else."

Leslie is the daughter of Claudia and Mike Hodges and plans to major in Culinary Arts.

"Leslie is a dynamic shooter that will have an immediate impact on our tea," commented Coach Raley-Ross. "She brings a toughness and grit that I am excited to be able to coach. I am thankful Leslie chose to be a Wildcat!"
