Women's Soccer Falls To NCAA Foe

Pineville, NC - JWU Women's Soccer Team continued their tough schedule tonight as they took on NC Wesleyan. This was the third straight NCAA Division III opponent for the Wildcats. The Battling Bishops ultimately proved too much for JWU, as NC Wesleyan won the contest, 4-0.

Jordan Forbess scored the first goal of the game for NC Wesleyan (2-3-1) in the 8th minute of the game before Sarah Cook added another in the 28th minute. The Wildcats (2-3) came out in the second half with renewed energy, but the the 2-0 score held until NC Wesleyan's Cook scored her second of the game. Maddie Williams capped the scoring in the 67th minute.

Head Coach Matt Hisler on the the game: "Overall we beat ourselves in this game. It is important we learn to cut out the silly mistakes and focus more on what we control. NC Wesleyan played a game with great speed and physicality, their mentality was key to their competitive edge. We will learn from this game and raise our level of play."

The Wildcats will look to bounce back this weekend as they host UC Clermont on Sept. 29  at 11:00 am and Warren Wilson on Sept. 30 at 2:00 pm.
