Charlotte, NC - JWU Women's Soccer has announced Sarah Bartlett as the second signing for the 2019 recruiting class. The goalkeeper joins JWU from Jimmy C. Draughn High School.
Sarah is the daughter of Sue and Scott Bartlett, and she will be another in a long line of well-rounded student-athletes for the women's soccer program. The future Baking and Pastry Arts and Food Service Management major is a member of the Anchor Club, National Honor Society, and the Tri-M National Music Honor Society. The Valdese, NC native also brings leadership to the Wildcats, on and off of the field. Not only did she captain her high school soccer team, she also served as the Drum Captain in the marching band and Section Leader in the symphonic band. Bartlett also competed in cross country and track at Draughn.
"I chose Johnson & Wales Charlotte because it has always been my dream to go to culinary school and JWU is world renowned for their programs," said Bartlett. "I cannot wait to begin college soccer, this is an amazing opportunity that Mr. Hisler has given me and I'm looking forward to the training and games this coming fall."
"Sarah is a great addition to our team. Her exuberant energy and hunger to improve will add to the competitive level of our training environment, inspiring the players around her," reflected Wildcats Head Coach Matt Hisler. "As a shot stopper she is fearless, quick, and aggressive. Her great range will make her a difficult goalkeeper to beat as she matures into the position."
