Charlotte, NC - JWU Charlotte Women's Soccer Coach Matt Hisler is pleased to announce Jah'Asia Pernell as the next addition to the 2019 recruiting class. The goalkeeper comes to Johnson & Wales via Fike High School. The Wilson, NC native was recognized as All-Conference, All-Region twice, and was the recipient of the Brittany Willis Memorial Sportsmanship Award three consecutive years while competing for Fike. Jah'Asia also represented Wilson Youth Soccer Association at the club level.
The daughter of Gale Clark and John Pernell is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and has been recognized as a North Carolina Academic Scholar. She intends to major in Sports, Entertainment, Event-- Management and Marketing.
"I feel like this is the best place to continue to increase my talent and get a great education at the same time," responded Jah-Asia when asked why she chose Johnson & Wales Charlotte. As for her thoughts on joining the Women's Soccer team: "I'm looking forward to building a great bond with a great group of people."
