Women's Soccer Signs Goalkeeper Savage

Charlotte, NC - Washington, D.C. native Kayla Savage has signed with Johnson & Wales Charlotte, becoming the sixth member of the 2019 recruiting class for Head Coach Matt Hisler. The goalkeeper recently graduated from Bell Multicultural High School in the district. She earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, and was named DCSAA All-State during her prep career.

She is the daughter of Denice and Shaunn Savage, and plans to major in Sport Management at Johnson & Wales. When asked why she chose JWU, Savage spoke about the high regard in which Johnson & Wales graduates are held by prospective employers. She is also excited to bring her 'never give up' attitude to the team.

Coach Hisler praised Kayla's many abilities. "I am excited to work with Kayla. Miss Savage brings great intangibles to the table.  She has a great mindset and toughness about her that will compliment our group well.  In the training environment she will push the others in the team to be the best and help us persevere through the adversity we face."
