Norfolk, VA - The JWU Women's Soccer Team took on Regent University for their final game of the regular season on Sunday. The game needed two overtimes, and in the end the teams ended level, 2-2.
The first score of the game came when the Royals were awarded a penalty kick and Emily Triplett converted from the spot. The Wildcats would respond before halftime with two goals in a five minute stretch. Jaedan Smith scored first for the Wildcats to tie the game on the Eboni Montague assist. Montague would then put JWU ahead with a goal of her own just before halftime. The Wildcats would stay on the front foot most of the second half, but couldn't find the net. Regent would level late, sending the game into overtime. Despite multiple opportunities, JWU would end the match 2-2 after two overtime periods.
The Wildcats will next play when they head to the USCAA National Championships. The Wildcats enter as the #3 seed and will play #2 SUNY-ESF on November 9th at 2:30 pm and #6 Warren Wilson College on November 10th at 12:00 pm.
