Warren Wilson Nips Women's Soccer In Season Finale

Virginia Beach, VA - Both Johnson & Wales and fellow EMAC member Warren Wilson knew their postseason fate before the start of this afternoon's match at the USCAA National Championships. Both teams had been eliminated from advancing to the national championship game. This didn't stop the teams from playing a closely contested match for the second time this season.

The game statistics tell the story of the match. Each team had 2 corner kicks, and both Johnson & Wales's Jah'Asia Pernell and Warren Wilson's Susie Lusardi recorded 4 saves. Warren Wilson had 9 shots to JWU's 8.

Just over five minutes into the second half, Warrne Wilson's Chloe Reiss picked up a loose ball in front of JWU's goal and fired it into the back of the net, tallying the only goal of the match.

Lana Truese had 5 shots for the Wildcats, while Jaedan Smith added 3 more. Those two, along with fellow senior Nya Hill played their final collegiate match for the Wildcats.

Johnson & Wales finishes the season at 6-8-2.
