Tennessee Native Burch Set To Join Women's Soccer

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte Women's Soccer Coach Matt Hisler has announced Lauren Burch as the newest addition to the 2020 recruiting class.

Burch hails from Nolensville, TN and attends Nolensville High School. She helped lead the Knights to regular season and regional championships in both 2018 and 2019. They also won the District title in 2018. The 2018 season ended in the State Final Four while the 2019 season saw the Knights finish as state runners-up in Division 1-Class AA. The forward/midfielder also played club soccer for Nashville United Soccer Academy.

"Passion for anything culinary related and peers that have the same interests," listed Burch on reasons she chose JWU Charlotte. She added, "I am extremely excited to be a part of the Lady Wildcats Soccer Team. This allows me to continue my soccer career, which started at age five."

Lauren is the daughter of Larry & Sara Burch and has one brother, Harrison Burch. She intends to major in Baking & Pastry/Food Science. Lauren is also a member of the Nolensville High Culinary Competition Team and also recognized  by the National Society of High School Scholars.

"I am excited to have Lauren Burch coming to play for us. She comes from a great family environment, which has instilled in her an outstanding work ethic and hunger to achieve. She understands what it is to be a great teammate and the importance of the team working together to reach its goals," commented Coach Hisler on the signing. "On the field Lauren will offer a consistent attacking threat, with timely crosses and incisive passes. Most importantly, Lauren has great presence about her. Although aggressive on the field, she has an ability to put others at ease and can help bring out the best in those around her. She will be a great addition to our campus community."
