Women's Soccer Adds New Jersey's Daryl Monticello to 2021 Class

Charlotte, NC - The 2021 Johnson & Wales Women's Soccer recruiting class continues to take shape. Head Coach Matt Hisler announced Daryl Monticello as the third signee for the Wildcats.

Monticello, the daughter of Kristi and Darryl Monticello, is a center attacking midfielder from Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. She attends Point Pleasant Beach High School, and has been a four year player for the Gulls. She also plays club soccer for the Liverpool FC International Academy. She has also been part of the New Jersey ODP program for two years. Monticello also played hockey for her high school.

When asked why she chose Johnson & Wales, Monticello replied, "I love the environment and can just feel like it's gonna be the perfect spot for me! I'm so happy I got the spot and I want to impact the team in a good way. Can't wait for the up coming season, let's go Wildcats!" She plans to major in Business Management.

Coach Hisler thinks Daryl will be a tremendous addition to the program. " I am really excited to have Daryl Monticello coming to play for us in 2021.  As a player, she will bring a great awareness and vision to our midfield.  Daryl has the ability to impose herself physically , the creativity to shape a well textured pass, and the competitive edge to push through and find a goal when the game is there to be decided.  Miss Monticello comes from a strong family environment and will be an outstanding teammate."
