The Johnson & Wales University Volleyball Team celebrated their three graduating seniors in a home match vs Bob Jones University on Thursday, as well as had their annual "Dig Pink Night" to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Wildcats honored their seniors with great effort, but dropped the contest, 0-3.
The #5 Wildcats dropped set one, 15-25, to the Bruins. JWU (14-13) tightened the gap in the second set, but still fell 21-25. BJU (23-5) took the third set as well, 25-19.
Wildcats Head Coach Callie Phillips on the match: "Bob Jones is one of the better teams on our schedule. We matched up well with them in spots, but their consistent play helped them win each set. We hope to learn from the mistakes we made tonight and move forward to finish our schedule strong."
The Wildcats travel to Ferrum on Friday, Oct. 26 for a 6:30 match.
The JWU Volleyball team is also still collecting donations to help fight breast cancer. Please visit https://giving.side-out.org/campaigns/14781 for your opportunity to give.
