Lexington, KY - Three Johnson & Wales volleyball players were named to the 2018 AVCA-USCAA All-American team on Monday. The American Volleyball Coaches Association, in cooperation with its relationship with the USCAA, selects an All-American and Honorable Mention All-American Teams each season.
Moana Reid (Spring Lake, NC) was selected to the All-American Team based on her outstanding performance this year. She set a new school record with 934 assists in 2018. That total led all of USCAA Division II. She was selected as part of the USCAA National Championships All-Tournament team for the national champion Wildcats.
Toniya Scott (Waldorf, MD), and Kendall Watson (Elgin, SC) earned Honorable Mention honors from the AVCA. Scott, the 2018 USCAA National Championships Tournament MVP, led the Wildcats in Kills, Hitting %, Blocks, and Points this season. In 4 matches at the USCAA National Championships, she hit .297 with 30 kills, while committing only 8 errors. She also had 17 blocks and 28 digs in those matches. Watson set the single season school record for Digs with 719. This number ranked her 2nd nationally as well. She also led the Wildcats in service aces with 45, and was also named to the USCAA National Championships All-Tournament Team.
