Wildcats Cruise Past Storm In Home Opener

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales University Volleyball Team hosted Davidson County Community College on Tuesday. The Wildcats cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Storm in their 2019 home opener.

The Wildcats opened the first set with a 25-20 win and got progressively stronger throughout the night. After taking set two 25-18, JWU finished the evening with a dominant 25-10 victory in set three. Demya Scott led JWU with 10 kills, followed by Iyana Favor with 9. Moana Reid contributed 26 assists while also adding 11 digs. 

"I'm glad we could get the sweep in our home opener. Everyone got some playing time, and we got a team win," commented JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips. "We appreciate the nice crowd in attendance and look forward to our next match on Thursday."

The Wildcats host Benedict College on Thursday night with a 5:30 tip-off.
