Wildcats Take Down Pride With 3-1 Victory

Greensboro, NC- The JWU Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Greensboro College on Tuesday night and returned home with the 3-1 victory. 

After dropping the first set 25-21, the Wildcats would roar back in the second with the 25-22 win. The third set had fireworks of its own, with JWU taking the set 26-24. The Wildcats would seal the victory over the Pride (5-6) with a 25-21 win in the fourth.

"We showed great resolve, teamwork, and composure today," said Wildcats Head Coach Callie Phillips. "I'm proud of our effort and overall play and look forward to our game on a Thursday."

Iyana Favor led JWU with 12 kills, followed by Toniya Scott with 11. Three Wildcats reached double digit digs on the evening: Moana Reid had 16, Lynasia Felder contributed 15, and Demya Scott added 14. Reid also led the team with 37 assists. 

The Wildcats move to 7-2 on the season and will next travel to Piedmont International University on September 19th for a 7:00 pm match.
