Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Volleyball Team hosted Guilford Tech on Tuesday, dispatching the visiting Titans 3-0. The Wildcats are currently enjoying a five match winning streak and have only dropped one set in that stretch. This was the 11th 3-0 victory for Johnson & Wales this season.
JWU dominated the match from the beginning, sweeping in three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-13, and 25-11, respectively. The Wildcats, ranked #2 in the USCAA D2 coaches poll, hit .647 as a team in set one. Iyana Favor led the team with 7 kills on the night while hitting .667. Favor also led JWU with 6 digs. Moana Reid paced the team with 23 assists.
"Everybody got involved tonight, and I love it when that happens," said JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips after her team's impressive performance. "Our next few games pose some challenges for sure, and I know we'll be up to the task."
JWU moves to 15-4 on the season and looks to extend their win streak when they travel to Bob Jones University on October 11th for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
