Columbia, S.C. - Columbia International hosted Johnson & Wales Charlotte for a softball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The host Rams won by scores of 16-4 and 8-0.
CIU scored seven runs in the bottom of the first of game one to build a sizable advantage. The Wildcats clawed three runs back in the top of the third, as
Katie Murphy and
Mai Tellez-Martinez had RBI singles. The Rams added five runs over in their final two at-bats for the final margin.
Murphy had two of JWU's four hits in the game. She also pitched three innings, allowing eleven earned runs while walking one and striking out two.
Ram starting pitcher Gabriella Czuczuk held the Wildcats to just one hit in game two.Â
