Johnson & Wales Wildcats lost their match tonight 3-2 to Voorhees College.
It usually takes the Lady Wildcats the first game to warm up, but not tonight. The JWU Wildcats were warmed up and started the night off strong by clinching a win for the first game with a score of 25-15.
The second game was a battle between the two schools. Voorhees College was not going to make it easy for the JWU Wildcats to walk away with the win to the second game. Both teams played hard until the last volley, however, Voorhees College was able to pull away with the win with a score of 25-23 for the second game.
With the score of the match being 1-1, the crowd knew this third match was going to be intense. Both teams came out fired up and ready to take the win. Voorhees College put up a good fight in the first few volleys but then slowed down, while the JWU Wildcats kept the momentum going. This momentum carried the Wildcats to the win of the third game with a score of 25-14.
The fourth game started out slow for both teams. Neither team could get anything going for awhile. However Voorhees College was able to raise above the fatigue and take the win, with a score of 25-22.
Now with the score of the match being 2-2, it came down to the last and final game. Game five was the last chance for either team to make the victory theirs. Voorhees College put everything they had to give on the line for this win. The JWU Wildcats tried but could not keep up. With a score of 15-10 Voorhees College won the last game, giving them the victory of the match 3-2.
