Johnson & Wales University took on Voorhees College in their second match of the tri-match this evening. The Wildcats went into the match with the goal of adding a win to their record and succeeded. JWU won the match 3 games to 0.
Throughout the night both teams had many styles of play. The Wildcats as well as the Tigers both showed strong defensive play the whole match.
There were many rallies all night long, but JWU was quicker to the ball and hustled consistently. The Wildcats got the early lead in each of the games and held onto their lead throughout the remainder of each game. The Wildcats played well consistently overall in team play.
The Wildcats went on to win the match 3 games to 0. Game one ended with a 25-23 score, game two was 25-18, and game three was closed out with a score of 25-15 respectively.
Coach Phillips said, "Our team fundamentals were very good tonight. We worked very hard on our side to make good passes and play our game. I am pleased with our consistency."
The Wildcats take on Catawba Valley Community College at home on October 18 at 7:00pm in the JWU Student Center. Come cheer on your Wildcats!
