In the Wildcats second match of the tri-match on Saturday, they took on the Pacers of Peace College. JWU started off good by getting an early lead, but ended up losing their momentum and fell to Peace College.
Poor Communication in the beginning of game one would cause the Wildcats the need to work harder throughout the remaining of the game. They picked up their pace and came together as a team with overall good defense. Taylee Tellechea stood out with strong net play. JWU was able to close out game one with a 25-22 win due to good hustle in the final points of the game.
JWU continued their strong play as they would need to come from behind in the middle portion of game two. Emily Kirchner and Kristen Hall both assisted the team with their strong serving. The Wildcats went on a run, which led them to a 4 point lead at game point. However, the Pacers responded and were more aggressive than JWU. Peace College took the game 28-26.
The end of game two was the turning point for the rest of the match between the Wildcats and Pacers. Peace College took their momentum from their win in game two and ran with it the remaining of the match. The Pacers took game three 25-13 and then game four 25-10 respectively.
The Wildcats will travel across town to take on Johnson C. Smith on Monday, October 10. Shuttle buses will be running from 6-7pm. Enjoy your Columbus Day holiday and come cheer on the Wildcats!
