This evening, the Johnson & Wales Wildcats took on the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College. Many students, staff, and family members filled the JWU Student Center stands to cheer on their home team.
Belmont Abbey started the game off quickly, taking the early lead over the Wildcats. JWU missed many opportunities on offense and then fell early into foul trouble. The Crusaders took the lead by 31 points due to up tempo play as the first half ended.
Going into the second half, the Wildcats attempted to pick up their pace and play their game. Both teams were playing strong defensively, but the Crusaders remained comfortably in the lead, taking the win 108-55.
Bruce Lewis led the Wildcats in points with a total of 16 baskets, while Michael Daniel followed with 10 points.
The Wildcats will be traveling to Durham, North Carolina to take on the Eagles of North Carolina Central on Sunday, November 13th at 4:00pm.
