Wildcats Play Hard in First Game of the BC Tournament

Johnson & Wales University traveled to Bridgewater, VA to play in the Bridgewater College/Don Glick Classic Basketball Tournament this weekend. The Wildcats took on the Eagles of Bridgewater College this evening at 8pm in their first game of the tournament.

Both teams began the game shooting well from the outside. The Eagles took a brief lead over the Wildcats, but behind strong post play by Sydney Mitchell, the Wildcats were able to tie the game. However, BC went on a 10-0 run as the Wildcats committed several turnovers. JWU went into halftime trailing by 13 points.

The Eagles entered the second half increasing their defensive pressure, causing problems for the Wildcat offense. JWU fell behind by more than 20 points, but then picked up their game and went on an 18-4 run to close the gap to seven points.

The Wildcats ran out of time and the Eagles took the victory 79-70.
