On Thursday evening, the Lady Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University took on the Hornets of Morris College. JWU would fight hard throughout the match, but would then fall short of another win, losing to the Hornets 3 games to 1.
Game 1 would begin with the Lady Wildcats having strong net play, which gave them an 8 point lead to the Hornets. Defensive errors made by JWU would hold them back from winning the game. Morris College would go on to win 25-21.
The Lady Wildcats would come into game 2 with the momentum they needed to win this game. Again they would take the lead and perform well in their net play. Kristen Hall (2) and Kaitlin Kuntz (4) demonstrated solid game play throughout game 2. The Lady Wildcats would go on to win 25-20.
Morris College came into game 3 strong, with good net play and consistent with offensive plays. JWU would rally multiple times to try and get the lead again, but their defensive play was lacking. Morris College would go on to win 25-19.
With a 6 point lead by the Hornets, Morris College gave the Lady Wildcats a good game. JWU would rally again, and the score would be tied multiple times throughout the game. The Lady Wildcats were not able to close out the game and Morris College would go on to win 25-23.
