The Wildcats traveled to the mountains of North Carolina for the second time in three days to take on the Cavaliers of Montreat College.
JWU entered the game knowing that it would be an uphill battle to take the victory. The entire contest was a struggle for the Wildcats defensively, as they needed to block Montreat's three point shots in order to keep the game close. JWU was not successful as the Cavaliers went 8 for 13 from behind the arc in the first half. The Wildcats would also lack execution on the offensive end of the floor, as they entered half time with a total of 26 points and trailed by double digits.
The second half mirrored much of the first half as JWU continued to struggle on both ends of the floor, allowing Montreat to increase their lead and eventually take the victory by a final score of 94-55.
JWU benefited from solid offensive production from two guards throughout the contest. Hursel Forbes and DaShaun Alston paced the Wildcats with 10 and 9 points, respectively.
The Wildcats continue their three game road trip as they prepare to travel to Francis Marion University for a game on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00pm.
