Lady Wildcats Earn Split at WTCC Tri-Match

Raleigh, NC – The Johnson & Wales Lady Wildcats (15-8) (Ranked 5th in USCAA Coaches Poll) traveled to Raleigh today to take part in the Wake Technical Community College Tri-Match.  JWU won their first match against Lenoir Community College, 3-0. The Lady Wildcats fell short against homestanding Wake Tech in the second match by a 3-0 score.

In match one Moriah Hughes led the Lady Wildcats with 11 kills, followed by Reanna Bray and Lauren Cordts with 8 and 6 kills, respectively. Kaitlin Kuntz had 35 assists and 15 digs. JWU went on to win their first match 3- 0.

Hughes led the team with 9 kills in the nightcap. Madelyn Leonard followed with 8 kills and Cordts added 5 more.  Kuntz steered the team with 25 assists and 12 digs.


The Lady Wildcats are next in action at home on Monday, October 15 when they take on the Flyers of Sandhills Community College.  Match time set for 6:00 pm.
