The Wildcats hosted the Owls of Warren Wilson College this evening in their second match-up in the last two weeks. JWU was looking to avenge a 17 point loss in that first game. However, WWC proved to be the better team, winning by an 85-56 margin.
JWU started the game shooting well and was able to disrupt the Owls offensive flow. The game remained close for much of the first half, but the Owls used a late first half spurt to take a 17-point halftime lead. Their spurt was keyed by multiple 3-point shots.
The second half was a reflection of the end of the first half as WWC continued to widen their lead, converting many easy chances in transition and remaining hot from 3-point land. The Wildcats struggled to score the ball in the second half due mainly to good defense from the Owls, and JWU was unable to close the gap.
The next home game for the Wildcats will be on Wednesday, February 9th at 7:00pm in the JWU student center.
