JWU drops season series to BSC

Johnson & Wales University played host to the Sabers of Barber-Scotia College on Thursday evening. JWU was hoping to come back from their 13-point loss from the Sabers early on in the season. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were not able to gain the lead as BSC won the game 65-57.

Starting the game off with 3-point shots from both teams, the Wildcats were able to take the early lead. JWU was strong on the defensive end of the court, causing BSC to make fouls, which the Wildcats would gain from. JWU was able to pass the ball in the perimeter of their court, giving them great scoring opportunities.  The score was 30-26 going into halftime.

The Sabers came out of the locker room with strong perimeter passing and accurate shooting. JWU countered the Saber plays by having a good defense, which let the team to the night. As the Wildcats looked to be losing all hope, BJ Sumtner made a 3-point shot, which began to turn the game around. The Sabers were just undeniable and went on to take the win over the Wildcats.

The next Wildcat home game will be on Tuesday, February 14th at 7:30pm in the JWU Student Center. Come out to cheer on the Wildcats!
