JWU Takes a Close One Against Lenoir CC

Kinston, NC – The Johnson & Wales Lady Wildcats (1-1) traveled to Kinston today to take part in the Lenoir Community College Tri-Match.  JWU won their first match against Lenoir Community College, 3-2. 

The Lady Wildcats started slow, losing game one 25-17, before rallying to take games two and three, 25-17 and 25-21. The Lady Lancers forced a fifth and deciding game by winning a hard fought game four, 25-22. JWU would ultimately prevail in game five, 15-10.

Moriah Hughes led JWU with 19 kills, 16 digs, and 5 blocks. Tori Dublino added 21 digs and Kylie Marquardt had 15 assists. Jazmyne Williams played strong at the net recording 6 blocks.

The Lady Wildcats will play Surry Community College today at 11:30am.
