Salisbury, NC - The Lady Wildcats (3-5) were back in Salisbury today for their second match of the Livingstone College tournament, this time taking on the Morris College Hornets. The Lady Wildcats beat the Hornets in 3 quick games, earning their first win in the tournament.

JWU quickly jumped ahead of the hornets with strong all-around team play in game one. The Lady Wildcats easily took the game 25-13. 

The Lady Wildcats started game two with solid, overwhelming play at the net, building a 12-3 lead. JWU was able to extend the lead to 14, behind consistent serving from Tori Dublino and Sarah Slaughter, and strong attacking play from Reanna Bray. The Hornets were unable to regroup as the 'Cats went on to take game two 25-9.

The Lady Wildcats were able to take a 9-5 lead in game three with good serving at 9-5 despite sloppy play from both teams. JWU continued their stong serving and picked up their play at the net as they stretched their lead to 10. Poor communication from JWU allowed the Hornets to cut the lead to six at 21-15. The Lady Wildcats regrouped after a timeout, led by strong attacks from Bray and active play at the net from Lucy Herrmann. JWU finished game three with a 4-1 run, closing out game three, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.

The Lady Wildcats take on the Blue Bears of Livingstone College today at 4pm, in their final match of the tournament.
