Box Score Greenville, SC – 16th ranked Johnson & Wales (12-19) traveled to Greenville, SC on Thursday for their final game of the season against the Bruins of Bob Jones University (14-14). Hoping to end the season with a victory, the Wildcats unfortunately came up short 93-75.
JWU went on a 10-4 run over the first two and a half minutes of the first half. BJU responded with a 7-0 run to take the lead at 11-10. Over the next five and a half minutes, the Wildcats would go on a 14-7 run to take a 6 point lead at 24-18. JWU would continue to extend their lead to as much as 8, before taking only a 1 point lead into the half at 43-42.
Almost a minute into the second half, the Bruins would score taking the final lead change of the game, going on a 17-5 run to take an 11 point lead at 59-48. The Wildcats would try to claw their way back into the game, cutting the deficit to 4 at 66-62. With only 6:23 left on the clock, the Bruins were able to extend their lead back to double digits at 12. BJU would finish the game with a 7-0 run, taking an 18 point lead to end the game at 93-75.
The Wildcats were led by Bobby Scriven with 22 points. DeQuincey Bennett and Joshua Cohen followed with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Cohen also tallied 4 rebounds. The Wildcat's finished their season 12-19 overall and 6-3 in their conference.
