Box Score Charlotte, NC - The USCAA #16 Johnson & Wales volleyball team fell in four sets on Tuesday to Sandhills Community College by the scores of 25-15, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20.
The Wildcats (16-16) lost to Sandhills for the second time this season, but it was certainly an improved effort over the straight set loss they suffered on Sept. 15.
Senior Erika Ross was honored prior to the game for her contributions to the program over the past three seasons as part of Senior Night festivities.
"We looked good in spurts, but we had a few too many errors to be as productive as we needed to be tonight," said Wildcats head coach Callie Phillips. "Erika played well on her Senior Night, and I wish we could have gotten the win for her.
"Erika has been with our program for three seasons. She has won the Wildcat Award (most spirited and supportive teammate) and was recognized as an Academic All-American for her work in the classroom. She has been a great role model for our campus and our volleyball program, and we wish her the best."
Lucy Herrmann led the attack with 14 kills while Mattie McGill added 10 kills and 10 digs for Johnson & Wales. Halle Franklin posted a game high 29 assists and 19 digs.
The Wildcats will conclude the regular season on Thursday when they host Allen University at 6:00 p.m.
