Volleyball Comes Up Short to Allen in Season Finale

Charlotte, NC - The USCAA #16 Johnson & Wales volleyball team came up short in a five set thriller against Allen University on Thursday, losing by the scores of 13-25, 25-19, 16-25, 26-24, 15-13.

The Wildcats concluded their regular season with a record of 16-17, a marked improvement over their 13-23 record from a year ago.

"We were very young at key positions, and our season took some unexpected turns for sure," said Wildcats head coach Callie Phillips.  "We have a strong foundation moving forward, though, and I look forward to working with this group over the years to come."

Lucy Herrmann led the Johnson & Wales attack with 12 kills on the evening, while Halle Franklin finished with 24 assists and 18 digs.  Mattie McGill chipped in with seven kills and 14 digs for the Wildcats.
