Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales women's basketball team won their home opener in style, claiming a comfortable 69-22 victory over Christendom College in the opener of the Wildcat Tip-Off on Friday.
The Wildcats (1-2) used a stifling defense to limit Christendom to just 10 points in the first half and 13 points through three quarters of play.
Amber Gladden led a balanced attack for Johnson & Wales with 13 points on the night, while Bianca Covington added 10 for the hosts.
Bryn Burgess led Christendom (1-3) with 12 points.
The Wildcats resume play on Saturday when they host Penn State Fayette in the second game of the Wildcat Tip-Off. The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
