Box Score Buies Creek, NC - Johnson & Wales guard Nicholas Crawford scored 17 points in an 87-53 loss at NCAA Division 1 foe Campbell University on Wednesday.
The senior finished 7-of-13 from the floor, but it wasn't enough as the Wildcats (5-7) lost for the third time this month to a Division 1 opponent. Rickey Porter added 11 points and seven rebounds for Johnson & Wales.
The Wildcats struggled to contain Campbell near the basket, losing the rebounding battle 48-29. It was the largest deficit for Johnson & Wales all season.
Campbell was paced by a balanced attack, with five players reaching double figures. Troy Harper led the Fighting Camels with 14 points while four other starters finished with 11.
Johnson & Wales will resume play on Jan. 6 when they travel to Durham, NC, to play another NCAA Division 1 opponent, North Carolina Central. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
