Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales volleyball team ran their winning streak to nine after picking up a pair of victories over Concordia-Alabama and Mid-Atlantic Christian on Friday at the Johnson & Wales USCAA Tri-Match.
The Wildcats (11-3) defeated Concordia 26-24, 30-28, 22-25, 25-20 before topping Mid-Atlantic Christian in the nightcap 25-21, 25-16, 25-16.
Johnson & Wales has not lost since they dropped a 2-1 decision to Lenior Community College on Aug. 29.
In the opener, Lucy Herrmann and Cameron Leonhardt led the offensive charge, picking up 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Hailey Thrift had 31 assists on the night while Samantha Johnson picked up a season high 27 digs. Herrmann added 14 digs as well.
Against Mid-Atlantic Christian, Herrmann picked up 12 more kills while Joy Leonard finished with 10. Thrift once again ran the show, collecting 27 assists, while Johnson came up with 14 digs for the Wildcats.
Johnson & Wales travels to Raleigh, NC, on Saturday for the William Peace University Quad Match. The Wildcats are scheduled to play the hosts at 10:00 a.m. before taking on North Carolina Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m.
