Charlotte, NC - The USCAA #7 Johnson & Wales volleyball team held off a stern challenge fom Toccoa Falls College on Friday to claim the program's 100th win since it's inception, winning in five sets 25-10, 25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 15-13.

Toniya Scott and Lucy Herrmann has 19 and 17 kills, respectively, for the Lady Wildcats (17-7), who remain on pace for setting the program's highest winning percentage in program history.

"Win number 100 was a bit of a rollercoaster ride tonight," said Callie Phillips, who has served as head coach since the program was launched in 2010.  "We looked to be in control early on and then began to yield a little too much in the second two games.  I'm proud that we fought through the adversity and pulled out the win, but we will work on playing with more urgency moving forward."

Donna Harris had 41 assists on the night while Halle Franklin led the way with 27 digs.  Johmillet Berrios chipped in with 16 digs as well.

"I'd like to thank and acknowledge all of the former players, coaches, student workers, and administrators who have worked with our program since 2010," said Phillips.  "We have come a long, long way since then, and we couldn't have done so or reached 100 wins without all of their contributions."

Johnson & Wales resumes play on Tuesday when they travel to play local rival Johnson C. Smith University.  Play is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
