JWU Volleyball Suffers Five-Set Loss to Wake Tech

Box Score

Raleigh, NC - The USCAA #8 Johnson & Wales volleyball team lost in five sets to Wake Technical Community College on Tuesday, falling by the scores of 25-21, 24-26, 21-25, 25-17, 15-7.

Lucy Herrmann finished with 18 kills and 15 digs for the Wildcats (19-9), while Toniya Scott recorded 14 kills on the evening.

"We were done in by our own errors tonight," said Wildcats head coach Callie Phillips.  "We cannot expect to commit this many hitting and other errors against a good team and still come out on top. It's part of the learning process, but it's a tough lesson for us at this point in the season."

Donna Harris posted 37 assists for Johnson & Wales while Halle Franklin finished with 28 digs to lead the defensive effort.

The team will resume play on Thursday when it hosts NCAA D2 program Livingstone College in the regular season finale.  Play is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Wildcat Center.
