Box Score Toccoa, GA - The Johnson & Wales volleyball team defeated Toccoa Falls College in straight sets on Thursday, winning 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 on the road to improve to 2-0 for the first time in program history.
Senior Lucy Herrmann led the Lady Wildcats with 10 kills on the day while freshman Johmillet Berrios added seven kills, three block solos, and one block assist.
"I'm very pleased with our effort tonight," said Johnson & Wales head coach Callie Phillips. "The Toccoa Falls fans definitely provide a home court advantage, but our team stayed consistent and played our game to get the win. I'm very happy with our progress so far and look forward to our tri-match this weekend."
Donna Harris contributed six aces on the day while Toniya Scott finished with four block solos and one block assist.
The Lady Wildcats resume play on Saturday when they travel to Wentworth, NC, to play in the Haley Jo Plummer Classic at Rockingham Community College. Play begins at 12:00 p.m.
