WIldcats Fall To Tigers On Road

Box Score

Columbia, SC - The JWU, Charlotte Volleyball Team took on Benedict College today. The last time these two teams met, JWU won at home in three sets. The Tigers were able to avenge their loss on Monday with a 3-0 victory of their own, 20-25, 21-25, and 20-25.

JWU (11-8) was led by Toniya Scott with 9 kills, Moana Reid with25 assists, and Kendall Watson with 23 digs.

Wildcats Head Coach Callie Phillips on the match: "We made way too many errors to get anything going tonight. Benedict has very good blockers, and we allowed that to affect our game. We didn't have our aggressive style going for us tonight, and it showed."

JWU hosts a tri-match this Friday, Oct. 5, with a 2:00 pm match with Wake Tech and a 6:00 pm match with Mid-Atlantic Christian University. This is also an opportunity to get involved with Operation Sandwich. JWU will be collecting items to help make sandwiches for some of Charlotte's homeless population through Charlotte Urban Ministry. Monetary donations are also accepted.
