Volleyball Comes Up Short On Road

Box Score

Toccoa Falls, GA -  The Johnson & Wales University Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Toccoa Falls College for another tough road test. The hard fought contest ended with a 2-3 defeat for the Wildcats.

#2 JWU was able to get ahead early, taking the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-15. The Eagles of TFC (16-6) rallied in sets three and four, 25-20 and 26-24, to force the fifth. The last set was another battle, with the Wildcats (12-10) falling, 13-15.

"We have been competitive in every match we have played. It's frustrating not to get the wins in matches like tonight's but we did a lot things well," commented Head Coach Callie Phillips. "We're going to keep improving throughout this month."

Demya Scott (12), Jamie Hay (11), and Toniya Scott (10) led JWU in kills. Moana Reid recorded 47 assists on the evening while Kendall Watson led the team with 33 digs.

The Wildcats will celebrate Family Night and Dig Pink Night on Oct. 11 as they host Sandhills Community College. That match is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
