Volleyball Continues Hot Start

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales University's Women's Volleyball Team took on Benedict College tonight. The Wildcats won in three sets, 25-16, 25-22, 25-15. JWU's win tonight moved them to 7-1 on the season. 

Three Wildcats tallied double digit digs. Kendall Watson led the team with 27 while Lynasia Felder and Moana Reid added 18 each. Reid also added 24 assists. Iyana Favor had 9 kills to lead JWU.

It was a comprehensive win over the Tigers (0-3), and JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips was impressed with her team. "I am very pleased with our effort and result tonight. We executed in all areas of the game, and I'm proud of my team's consistency and ability to control the tempo. We are excited to play in the Eagle Invitational this weekend and face some familiar foes and new competition."

The Eagle Invitational takes place Sept. 7-8 at Wake Tech. Friday's matches will include Spartanburg Methodist at 12:00 pm and Wake Tech at 4:00 pm. On Saturday they will play Walters State at 12:00 pm and Richard Bland at 6:00 pm.
